This circular saw is used to cut pieces of materials which are made of fiber cement. It is powered by a 13-ampere motor that facilitates five 5/16”siding boards in a single pass. It has a dust container that collects saw dust keeping the work area clean. Dust port located rear of the housing can attach to a vacuum to deposit the collected debris. The saw switch and bearings are dust proof for the saw to work longer. Its control lever permits retraction of its guard to an easy plunge cut. The bevel cuts range from 0 degree to 45 degrees. A shaft-lock is included for a quick and easy task of changing blades. It comes with carbide blade with 28 teeth intended particularly to cut fiber cement called the Makita 5057KB 7-1/4” Circular Saw Carbide tipped blade (A-90451). Aside from sawing, the Makita circular saw is for cutting, wood molding, concave dishing and trimming.
